Reading update #2

I never intended for these reading updates to be a regular thing, but I might as well treat them as such if I’m going to post them more often! I’ll just use these to inform you guys that no, I am not dead (though perhaps in the literary sense by a book giving me feels, or a book ending shattering my soul to pieces) but that I am busy reading and/or reviewing books. Depending on their length, that might take a little longer than others, but they are still coming.

Some reviews have to wait to be published as per request of the author/publisher, and I stick to that — so if you happen to see that I’ve finished a book on Goodreads, but the review isn’t up within the next two days, that means I’ll wait with publishing my review until a later date. They will be posted, however, both on my Goodreads page and on this blog.

That being said, I have just finished Dan Jones’ The Hollow Crown, a historical book on the Wars of the Roses and the rise of the Tudors and I rated it four stars because it was just …. how do I say this without falling to the ground and rolling around like a fangirl — it was amazing. Since it was an eBook I don’t know how many physical pages it must’ve been, but I assume it was over 300 pages of historical goodness and I reveled in it and danced with it and ugh– I highly recommend it for those who like history books just as much as I do.

I am now about to start reading The Thief Taker by C.S. Quinn, which is something else entirely so that should be fun — and I am also going to  start The Moment Collector by Jodi Lynn Anderson, which is a book I very recently requested off Netgalley and got approved about ten minutes ago. The latter is said to be reminiscent of The Lovely Bones, which is good, because I love that.

Have you recently finished or started a book, or do you know any of the above? Let me know!

  1. Oooh they all sound so interesting. At the mo I’m reading “City of Heavenly Fire”, “Attachments” and “Dreamwalker”. Lord knows how I’ve ended up with three on my plate! Not to mention the ones I still need to read and review from Netgalley! Gah!

    • I’ve been wanting to read Attachments myself, haven’t been able to get my hands on it unfortunately! I usually read two books at once, but I have found myself in the situation of reading three at once — it’s crazy, so good luck hahaha. Damn Netgalley and all the good books (I have at least four books waiting for me, oops) Thanks for the comment!
